Bengaluru( Aryavarth): It’s uncommon to have a day when one or another BJP leader will not take the name of one of the descendants of Gandhi Family. The amount of free publicity that BJP does for the Gandhi family is unbelievable.
A party that has 300 seats in Parliament starts reacting on one statement by the family, why is it so? In the minds of the Indian electorate, the Gandhi family would have been long forgotten, if it was not for the BJP to make them a yardstick for all their hits and misses alike.
Whenever something goes wrong, aka the tea parleys that PM Modi had with General Secretary XI, the blame gets shifted to Nehru. When things go right, aka GST rollout, the comparison is again made with previous UPA government PM. Its time that BJP stops behaving like the number two-party, it is “THE” party that electorate has overwhelmingly voted for in the last election.
The yardstick for BJP should be the Vajpayee government or at best, and it should be the yardstick as none existed in seventy years, till the last government came to power. The country deserves more than acrimonious name-calling and abuses being hurled each other, and this is not our culture. Congress is not in control anymore, people moved it out, and brought BJP to power, not to know the shortfalls of the last ruling party. The war of words on twitter between Rahul Gandhi, JP Nadda and others does not reflect well on our India’s image.
Most times, it is one leader that brings up one of the Gandhi scions and starts the process again, elders get dragged, and the media screen gets fodder for the talk shows. Can BJP run India without calling the Gandhi family out?
Many a time, it seems that the BJP needs Rahul Gandhi more than the oldies in congress party. It looks like; If Rahul was to quit the politics, the BJP could go blank. The Indian electoral need no reminder about fallacies of congress government, its history, now its BJP’s turn and we want to know how India is moving forward and not about the failures of the Gandhi family.
Political adversaries are not enemies, and they are opponents. The idea of democracy is co-existence and civility on both sides. Name-calling can take India only so far, and If PM Vajpayee were alive he would have brokered peace, maybe Advani Ji can get both to stop bruising each other.
